National RV Holdings Inc., Company Profile

The National R.V. manufacturing company began as the Dolphin Trailer Company of Sylmar, California, which was founded by Wayne Mertes in 1964. Dolphin Trailer was renamed National R.V. in 1970, and in 1985, Mertes moved National RV's manufacturing facility to Perris, California, southeast of Riverside. At its zenith, National RV, and its parent company National R.V. Holdings, Inc. were one of the industry's leading manufacturers of diesel-powered motor home models and luxury bus conversions.

In December of 2007, National RV Holdings Inc. closed its Perris, California headquarters and production facility, laying off over 600 of their remaining employees (source: www.pe.com). National RV is no longer in operation and has ended its manufacturing of recreational vehicles. While in business, National RV manufactured a full line of Class-A diesel and gas motor homes under the model names: Dolphin, Islander, Pacifica, Sea Breeze, Surf Side, Tradewinds and Tropi-Cal.
