RV Class/Type

Luxury Coaches offer the highest amount of luxury amenities and are usually constructed around a commercial truck chassis (Spartan or Freightliner) with a rear diesel engine (Cummings or Caterpillar) known as a "diesel pusher."

The upper end coaches in this market segment often use a converted commercial bus chassis and shell (Prevost or GM) as a starting point, and construct a luxury coach from within. There are also hybrid class-a conversions (toterhomes and conversion trucks) such as Dynamax, Featherlite, Haulmark, Powerhouse and Renegade built on truck chassis with conventional tractor/trailer front ends; as well as several custom coach builders who specialize in luxury bus conversions to fit your particular needs. Toterhomes and conversion trucks are built around commercial vehicles with living quarters, designed to haul a gooseneck trailer or fifth wheel trailer.

There are several manufacturers of class-a coaches that are starting to produce Toy Hauler versions with garage space at the rear of the coach for your motorcycles or atvs.

Luxury class-a motorcoachs can be a sizable investment, but they are literally a "home-away-from-home," and some full-timers choose to stay on the road year-round. Although some high-end luxury coaches from companies like Featherlite, Newell, Newmar, and Marathon fetch astronomical prices, there are may luxury diesel coaches in the $200k to $400k range.
